There are many opportunities for parents to tell us how they feel about our school, our procedures and our practice. Each year parents will be invited to complete a questionnaire that covers many aspects of school life. The timeline for this survey will be sent out via the parent newsletter. The information this provides us with is invaluable in helping us to build on our success. Parental feedback, and actions the school have taken as a result, will be published on this page.
Ofsted Parent View is about giving parents the opportunity to provide feedack about the academy. The questionnaire can be completed at any time – you don’t have to wait until the school is being inspected. Visit the Parent View website here.
Parents are actively encouraged to share any concerns they have as soon as possible with the class teacher, Form Tutor, Head of Department, Head of Year or any member of SLT. Our open-door policy gives many opportunities for parents to raise their concerns – via email, by telephone or by arranging an appointment. Social media discussions amongst parents rarely get a problem solved or misunderstandings corrected and staff are prohibited from engaging with parents and students in this way. We discourage parent’s views on any social media sites and want to ensure that discussions are open and collaborative between staff and parents. Progress evenings and other engagements take place throughout the year allowing you to discuss your child’s progress in school.
OCA welcome and encourage our parents to become involved in school events as much as possible as part of our valued school community. We hold breakfast mornings, MacMillan coffee mornings, fundraising events and many more. So please come and join us.
You can also keep up to date with events at the school via this website, or via our social media accounts:
You can also visit the various subject and year accounts on Twitter and Instagram. This is also a way of us sharing some of the excellent work or activities that students are taking part in.
