The Mond Trophy
The Mond Trophy is a prestigious Science and Maths competition developed by the Centre of Excellence at Cronton Sixth Form College. The 2026 event took place on Friday 23rd January, allowing local school pupils to demonstrate high-level skills in various STEM subjects, including Physics, Biochemistry, Engineering and Mathematics. The competition encourages young students to continue their studies in these areas and fosters innovation and problem-solving skills among participants.
OCA had two teams; the girls were Olivia T, Georgia G-Q Sonya P and Faith C-M and the boys’ team was Harley P, Harley Q, Alfie S and Jacob A.
This year there were forty teams from twenty schools from all over the region… and the OCA girls’ team won! They came first overall and took the very coveted Mond Trophy.
Many congratulations to both our teams and our winning team!
Miss Lyne who accompanied our teams said, “It was a fantastic day and both our teams were amazing!”
