Helping with Transition

We aim to help, inform and guide pupils’ through the process to ensure they feel as ready as they can be to start school in year 7.

Before starting in September, a wide range of pupils will be invited into the academy on our “Around the World Programme.” This involves pupils meeting new staff and trying out a wide range of exciting activities across a number of subjects that are offered at OCA.

Transition Days for pupils will be on the 4th and 5th July 2022. These two transition days will allow pupils to meet their form tutor and other pupils from the wide range of primary schools and ask all those questions that will help them settle into academy life.

During the summer term Mrs Barratt, head of transition and Miss Glover, head of year 7 will be going into all the primary schools to meet students and discuss any specific needs of students to aid their transition to high school.

Finally, during the summer term parents/carers and students will be given a wide range of documentation to introduce you to the academy and answer any questions you may have.

Please keep checking our website for further information as we move into the summer term.
