Action Plan

Literacy is about our students’ ability to function in society as well as the school setting. It is about us preparing them to function as individuals, citizens, employees and parents. Literacy will have an impact on our students’ self-esteem, their interaction with others, their health and employability. It is so much more than reading, writing, speaking & listening.

Our Literacy and Reading Action Plan signals our commitment to a heightened, more targeted focus for improving Literacy and Reading.  Our overarching vision is to raise standards of literacy for all our pupils; the purpose of this Action Plan is to deliver this vision. This action plan will build on existing good practice and ensure that literacy will have a central and continuing focus in our curriculum.
